Free roaming and feral cats have different issues and needs than traditional house cats, so Humane Pennsylvania has created an array of programs and services specifically for them (and you)! These programs include Bottle Baby Kitten Kits, Working Cats Adoption and Placement Solutions, Feral Cat Sterilization, Free Roaming Cat Care Supports, and Spike’s Pet Pantry.

BOTTLE BABY KITTEN KIT PROGRAM

The Bottle Baby Kitten Kit Program was developed to provide resources to those that are caring for orphaned kittens that are too young to be adopted. Young kittens that are separated from their mother sadly are unlikely to survive on their own without assistance.

As part of Humane Pennsylvania’s Bottle Baby Kitten Kit Program, we offer care takers of unweaned kittens a helpful kitten kit. This kit comes complete with a booklet as a reference guide to the appropriate care of bottle baby kittens. In this booklet you will find useful instructions and techniques on how to properly nurse, bath, and care for bottle baby kittens.

Each Bottle Baby Kitten Kit includes: Bottle Baby Kitten Kit Instruction Booklet; Kitten Nursing Bottle, Nipple, and 2 Feeding Syringes; (1) 6 oz. can of Kitten Milk Replacer (powder); (1) 3 oz. can of Kitten Wet Food; 1 Rice Sock; and 1 Kitten Blanket.

This free Bottle Baby Kitten Kit Instruction Booklet is available to community members that are seeking insights for how to best nurse and care for unweaned kittens.  Please note, the booklet is only a basic guide. It does not and is not intended to address every possible care need for bottle baby kittens. If you have any concerns with the kittens in your care, please immediately consult a veterinary health care provider for assistance.

WORKING CATS – ALTERNATIVE ADOPTION & PLACEMENT PROGRAM

Humane Pennsylvania provides direct placement options to save the lives of feral and free roaming cats in our communities. Humane Pennsylvania directly connects those who require placement services of these cats with individuals, businesses, and organizations which are able to provide safe, secure, supervised outdoor homes, as well as placing cats from our shelters. Each cat placed in a nontraditional location has received complete sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip services. Each Working Cat placement partner will receive ongoing support from the Humane Pennsylvania team.

Humane Pennsylvania are currently seeking alternative placement families and partners. If you want to save a life and open your property to one of these feral or free roaming cats, we can provide you with all the support you need! This Working Cats program is also perfect for nontraditional environments such as wineries, greenhouses, warehouses, farms, corporate centers, and college campuses.

If you’d like to help us grow this life saving program and provide a nontraditional placement opportunity for free roaming cats, we’d love to hear from you!
