HOW DO PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN CLINICS WORK? (PWYC Clinics)
Pay-What-You-Can Neighborhood Clinics (PWYC Clinics) allow pet caretakers to obtain lifesaving vaccines, limited wellness care, and microchip identification and pay whatever they can – all, some, or nothing – based on what they can afford. Although each vaccine or service has a value of $15, $20 or more, HPA’s priority at PWYC Clinics is to ensure we can help every pet get the preventative services they need, without worrying about cost.
However, every dollar Humane Pennsylvania collects at these clinics allows us to pay it forward to those in need at the next clinic, so please pay what you can! Space is limited, so save time and ensure your spot by pre-registering for your “fast pass” reservation window!
VACCINE & MICROCHIP IDENTIFICATION SERVICES
Prevention is the key to keeping your pet healthy and safe. Humane Pennsylvania’s Healthy Pets Initiative (HPI) makes preventative vaccines and microchips available to residents of Berks and Lancaster Counties on a pay-what-you-can model!
PWYC Neighborhood Vaccination and Microchip Clinics offer:
- Rabies vaccines (1-year and 3-year, as needed; rabies is a disease that is fatal to humans and animals, and the law requires that every cat and dog be properly vaccinated).
- DA2PPV (dogs) or FVRCP (cats) vaccines (these vaccines prevent a wide variety of common diseases that can be fatal to pets, including distemper and parvo.
- Microchips (these are small devices, no larger than a grain of rice, that are implanted between a pet’s shoulder blades; when properly registered, they can help increase the odds that if your pet becomes lost you will be successfully reunited home).
