- Spike and Tilly’s Pet Resort requires a $60.00 deposit and a minimum-night boarding stay during select holidays.
- Deposits are refundable up to 72 hours before your scheduled arrival. If we do not receive a 72-hour notice, your deposit will not be refunded.
- For Thanksgiving and Christmas stays, we require notice of cancellation 7 days before your arrival for a refund.

- Dogs:
- Must be up-to-date on their Rabies, Distemper combo, and Bordetella Vaccines 2 weeks prior to the scheduled boarding date.
- Flea Treatment must be administered 2 weeks prior to the scheduled boarding date. If our staff finds live fleas on your pet, they will administer an over-the-counter flea treatment at an additional cost, along with a $50.00 administration and inconvenience fee.
- Cats:
- Must be up to date on their Rabies, FVRCP Vaccines, 2 weeks prior to the scheduled boarding date.
- Flea Treatment must be administered 2 weeks prior to the scheduled boarding date. If our staff finds live fleas on your pet, they will administer an over-the-counter flea treatment at an additional cost, along with a $50.00 administration and inconvenience fee.
- Ferrets:
- Must be up to date on Rabies and Distemper Vaccines.
- Flea Treatment must be administered 2 weeks prior to the scheduled boarding date. If our staff finds live fleas on your pet, they will administer an over-the-counter flea treatment at an additional cost, along with a $50.00 administration and inconvenience fee.
- Pets from outside of Pennsylvania must also have an interstate certificate of veterinary inspection.
- We require written proof of all vaccines administered by a licensed Veterinarian to be uploaded to the gingr app. All vaccines must state the date of administration, date of expiration, and what type of vaccine, as well as the veterinarian’s name and signature that administered them.
- For the safety of your pet and other guests, we do not accept:
- Pets with pregnancy, lactation, in-heat, or postpartum within the last 6 weeks
- Pets that have been coughing within the last week or have upper respiratory disease
- Pets that have open wounds, broken bones, casts, bandages, or sutures
- Pets that are recovering from surgery
- Pets that have contagious diseases, including skin conditions
- Pets with diabetes
- Pets who are heartworm positive
- Pets with seizure/heart condition precautions
- Pets currently in Cancer/Radiation treatments
- Cats who have feline leukemia or feline AIDS
- Pets who are people-aggressive
- Acceptance of pets with health conditions not listed above will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If you have any concerns about your pet’s health, please contact the resort in advance to discuss.
- While we are happy to give dogs and cats vitamins, antibiotics, and medication for minor medical issues, we cannot give any life-sustaining medication. We cannot accommodate dogs or cats with any life-threatening illness. We can only administer medication twice a day from the hours of 9 AM to 5 PM. There is a medication administration fee of $5.00 per day. Medications for administration must be presented in their original container/bottle with current medication label instructions, including the name of the pet, the name of the medication, dosage, route, and special instructions. The pet parent must complete the Prescription Medication Form (or Controlled Medication form, when applicable).
- Medications, vitamins, and supplements may NOT be prepackaged with the pet’s meals. If medications, vitamins, and supplements are found in prepackaged meals, the pet parent will be called to determine the medication name and dosage instructions. The items will be removed, documented on a medication form, and entered into Gingr to ensure accuracy in administration.
- Our staff is in the building Sunday – Saturday, 9 AM – 5 PM. We do not provide after-hours supervision, so animals are without staff during the night. If you feel like your dog needs this type of supervision, then we recommend a pet sitter in your home.
- Although we strive to maintain the safest and most sterile environment, like all things in life, the potential for illness and injury does exist, especially in a fully interactive environment. Whether it is a school cafeteria, a vacation resort, or the workplace, we are exposed to germs on a constant basis. Like humans, both the very young and the very old dogs and cats are more prone to illness.
- All boarders must have an emergency in-town contact who is prepared to pick up your pet and arrange veterinary care.
- No, we are not veterinarians and do not have a veterinarian on staff at Spike and Tilly’s Pet Resort.
- No. The reason is that, at a veterinarian’s office, there are airborne germs that your dog can come in contact with. Your dog can then come to our facility and transmit these germs to the dogs presently at the facility. We ask that you wait at least 7 days after any vet visit before bringing your dog to our facility. If your dog receives their vaccinations at a mobile vet, they are welcome to come to Spike and Tilly’s immediately.
- We request that all our boarders be placed on a flea preventative. Although it is impossible to enforce this, history has shown that our pet owners are very conscientious and maintain a high level of health care for their pets. If we find one, we notify the owner immediately.
- We request that your pets’ food come in a sealed container. We do not accept open bags of food. If you forget your container, no problem, we have some for purchase. To ensure a flea and bug-free environment, we ask that you do not bring any bedding, fabrics, or plush toys. Additionally, we ask that you please do not bring any rawhides, as they can be a choking hazard. We provide all guests with bedding and blankets at no additional charge.
- Yes, it is very possible that your dog will get dirty at our boarding facility. Like children in school, dogs can get muddy, sweaty, and stinky as they are active and playing. Some level of dirt or odor is normal due to the nature of the dog’s stay. A little dirt or odor is not necessarily an indication of unsanitary conditions, but rather a sign of a fun time playing. While we do wipe down the dogs and give them a little spritz of dry shampoo/pet cologne at the end of their visit, we recommend scheduling a bath with your groomer or local grooming facility. We do not provide grooming or bathing services.
- We understand unexpected delays may occur. Therefore, we are always prepared to accommodate your dog. Just call and let us know. Your dog is welcome to stay overnight. He or she will have bedding and be fed. The boarding rate will be applied to your balance.
- Yes! We offer larger suites for multiple dogs to be boarded together. This can be a more cost-effective option for those dog duos or trios who can fit comfortably in the space. Our staff is trained to assess your dogs’ temperament and compatibility with each other to ensure they have a safe and comfortable stay.
