Berks Community Animal Rescue Team (CART) is Humane Pennsylvania’s emergency response team, to assist with displaced animals in the event of a disaster. Volunteers are dispersed within the community on an as-needed basis. As a CART volunteer, you will be on standby for emergency situations.

Your experience/qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of basic animal behavior and handling
  • Knowledge of emergency preparedness
  • Does well under pressure
  • Reliable transportation to emergency locations
  • Bilingual skills desired but not required
  • Must be over the age of 18
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds
