HELP ANIMALS. CHANGE THE WORLD.

Making an impact doesn’t have to be difficult or time-consuming. Through these cashless ways of giving, you can continue making a difference with Humane Pennsylvania while potentially saving money in the process.

Save on Taxes by Donating Stock

Many donors prefer to give appreciated stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or exchange-traded funds because they can immediately impact our mission while maximizing potential savings by avoiding paying tax on capital gains.

To make a gift of securities or mutual fund shares to Humane Pennsylvania, please contact Brian Pinto, Vice President of Philanthropy, at (610) 921-2348 ext. 429, or bpinto@humanepa.org, signifying the name(s) of the stock(s) being transferred, the approximate number of shares and the specific purpose/intent of the stock gift so that the proceeds/monies will be entered into the correct account.

You will need the following information to make an electronic transfer of stock:

  • Instruct your broker to electronically transfer the stock to the Humane Pennsylvania Foundation brokerage account.
  • Humane Pennsylvania Foundation Federal Tax ID Number: 46-1409103
  • ACAT Participant #2663
  • DTC Participant #2663
  • Account Name: Humane Pennsylvania Foundation IMA
  • Account Number: 003850
  • Wealth Management Associate: Charles Buehler, cbuehler@tompkinsfinancial.com

To promptly and accurately credit a security gift to the appropriate donor, it is essential that the transfer instructions include the donor’s name and address. Without this information, we are occasionally unable to identify the donors of certain securities.

Save on Taxes by Giving from Your IRA

If you are 70.5 or older, giving a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA can help reduce your taxable income — and for those over 73 who must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), an IRA gift is a simple way to fulfill it. Qualified Charitable Distributions count toward your Required Minimum Distribution, effectively lower your adjusted gross income, and can bring about important tax benefits.

  • No goods and services can be given in exchange
  • Gifts cannot be made to a donor-advised fund, a supporting organization, or a private foundation.
